🐧 Linux
  1. Open a terminal and run uname -m to check your architecture — you'll see either x86_64 or aarch64
  2. Download the matching file:
  3. Install it from a terminal, in the folder you downloaded it to:
sudo apt install ./rustdesk-1.4.9-x86_64.deb (swap in the aarch64 filename if that's what you downloaded)
    — the leading ./ matters, it tells apt to install this exact file rather than search for a package by name
  4. If you are using a Linux distribution that is not based on Debian or Ubuntu, visit the RustDesk releases page for other formats.
  5. Open RustDesk, click Settings → Network
  6. Set ID Server and Key to the values below, click OK

Once this is set up, RustDesk will show an ID and a one-time password on its home screen — just read both of those to me when we're on a call, and I'll be able to connect and help directly. The password changes each time, so there's nothing to remember or keep safe between sessions.
